Unless a physical limit is reached to miniaturization and the wonders of material science innovation stop at some point, we are accelerating towards a society where one be at any part of the world and share our experience instantly with our network.
As 2009 nears to a close, looking out into the future, one wonders what'll happen if we're all accessible to each other all the time at the lowest possible cost of access? Apart from the usual privacy concerns that come up, it'll give a new meaning to the term power of information. Whosoever holds the most amount of context about certain events, people or trends will be able to trade this information as a precious commodity. I believe such a future can only be made possible if the networks get truly democratized, similar to how the internet has become a massive cyberhighway that connects any part of the world to any other part.
